Font Problem: could not open default font 'fixed'

Hello,

I read the questions that others posted on the same issue but still
cannot resolve this problem. In my /etc/XFreeConfig this seems to be
the offending line:

         FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType"

This is the error message on starting X (startx):

(--) SVGA: XAA: Caching tiles and stipples

I am new to FreeBSD - can any one give me explicit instructions
on what I should do. Thank you very much.

I don't know FreeBSD, but on a Linux system this can be caused if /tmp is
full.

1. Font Problem: could not open default font 'fixed'

Edit /etc/XF86Config and remove that line or comment it and try again.
If you are using the XFree86 which loads by default it cannot handle
True Type fonts; a separate fontserver must be started.

And quit posting FreeBSD questions to Linux newsgroups.
