Can't compile qpopper on Linux 1.2.11

Post by Dan Pea » Thu, 03 Aug 1995 04:00:00

I just installed the new version of Slackware and can't get qpopper2.1.3
to compile on the new version. I'm running 1.2.11. qpopper compiled an
ran prefectly on the old version.

The message I get when I run make is :

/usr/include/endian.h:37: warning: `LITTLE_ENDIAN' redefined
/usr/include/asm/byteorder.h:10: warning: this is the location of the
previous d
efinition
pop_init.c: In function `pop_init':

/usr/include/resolv.h:186: previous declaration of `_res'
pop_init.c:234: invalid use of undefined type `struct state'
pop_init.c:247: warning: assignment discards `const' from pointer target
type
pop_init.c:267: invalid use of undefined type `struct state'
make[1]: *** [pop_init.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/dpeak/qpopper2.1.3'
make: *** [linux] Error 2

Does anyone know if this is fixable or should I search for another pop3
daemon?

If I need to get another daemon, does anyone know of one that doesn't use
shadow password and can be used with Eudora?

That is all.

1. Can't compile ppp-2.2.0c in 1.2.11 & 1.2.13

Hi,
I'm having problem compiling ppp-2.2.0c in Kernel 1.2.13. I'm not
compiling ppp as a module. I've read the README.linux file in the ppp package
and followed it exactly.  Here's the error output from "make zImage".
Please help me because I've deleted my old ppp  and couldn't find an old
ppp version on sunsite. (so now I have to use shell dialup :(.)
