Or how 'bout Compaq VAX?  or Compaq PDP-8?  :-)

Try Intel Alpha.

DEC sold it's Alpha chip to intel ages ago.

I thought that DEC just farmed out manufacturing of the chip to Intel, but
kept all of the rights to themselves (now inherited by Compaq)?

Well, guess there's no such thing as a Compaq Presario, since Intel
manufactures the CPU.  Intel Presario, anyone?

I thought Intel & Alpha were 2 different worlds:  NT versions for Intel & Alpha,
DEC suing Intel for stealing Alpha design, etc.

Sorry for blank lines, can't post otherwise.

The lawsuit was settled and for some $700mil in pocket change Intel now
owns the Alpha fabs (actually it's kind of still pending).

Well .. they own Digital's semiconductor fabs; there are two other
companies (whose names I cannot recall) that also produce the alpha under
contract to Digital, so Digital (and now Compaq) isn't tied to . Digital
retains the Alpha design group, and the right to produce the Alpha. In
return, Intel is contractually obligated to act as foundry for subsequent
generations of DEC Alpha processors.

hello,

I am trying to configure MetroX and I was rather unsucessful.
First off, I have a hercules Stingray with 2mb.  I also have a CTX 14"
monitor, (in windows, it supports true color at 800x600).  When I go to
configure this in X, it won't support it and in /var/log/Xerrors there
was nothing.  I am fine for now because I am running the standard config
(IBM vga card with a 13" monitor at the smallest res).  I would like to,
however to beable to tweak my hardware to support some modern software.
(Netscape, RedBaron, etc)  I'd appreciate any help and sorry if I was
brief in details.  Thanks in advance.
