Hello everyone. I am having a problem compiling Samba 1.9.18p2. I edited
Makefile and belive I uncomented what I needed, but when I try to do 'make'
it tells me:

Using CFLAGS
= -O -DSYSLOG -DSMBLOGFILE="/var/log/log.smb" -DNMBLOGFILE="/var/log/log.nmb
" -DCONFIGFILE="/etc/smb.conf" -DLMHOSTSFILE="/etc/lmhosts" -DWEB_ROOT="/usr
/local/samba" -DLOCKDIR="/var/locks" -DSMBRUN="/usr/local/bin/smbrun" -DCODE
PAGEDIR="/usr/
local/lib/codepages" -DWORKGROUP="fmac
" -DGUEST_ACCOUNT="nobody" -DDRIVERFILE="/usr/local/lib/printers.def" -O3 -m
486 -DLINUX -DSHADOW_PWD -DQUOTAS -DFAST_SHARE_MODES       -DSMB_PASSWD="/us
r/local/bin/smbpasswd" -DSMB_PASSWD_FILE="/usr/local/samba/priva
te/smbpasswd"
Using LIBS =
Compiling util.c
gcc: ": No such file or directory
util.c:0: unterminated string or character constant
util.c:0: possible real start of unterminated constant
make: *** [util.o] Error 1

I tried to compile the earlier version, but it did same thing, except that
it was "server.c" instead of "util.c".

This is a Linux Slackware 3.4 with 2.0.30 kernel and GCC v 2.7.2.3.

If anyone knows what can be the problem, please e-mail me or post reply
here. Thank you,

Arc C.
