Initio produces a binary-only driver for Linux for their host adapter.

Source code is not available, and the driver must be loaded as a kernel
module.  As a result, you need to already have a somewhat functioning
system before you can connect to an Initio SCSI card.  And that module
may or may not work with any given kernel; difficult to determine.

It is probably going to be less of a headache for you to toss the card
and find something actually supported by Linux.

Initio claims to support Linux; this would be more convincing if they
either:
a) Provided source code, or
b) Provided some defined level of service as opposed to "Here's a
kernel module - if it doesn't work for you, tough luck!"

Check out:

http://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/kernel/patches/scsi/

You need initioscsi-1.0.tar.gz.

Here is the .lsm:

Begin3
Title:          initioscsi
Version:        1.0
Entered-date:   05JAN98
Description:    Kernel 2.0.32(redhat) and 2.0.33(vanilla) Initio 9100
Scsi patches
Keywords:       Initio 9100 SCSI kernel patch

Primary-site:   sunsite.unc.edu /pub/Linux/kernel/patches/scsi
                45kB initioscsi-1.0.tar.gz
                1kB initioscsi.lsm
Platforms:      Linux kernel-2.0
Copying-policy: PD where appropriate.
End

Just apply the patch and recompile the kernel.  Just did it myself and
works great!
