Help getting rpc.nfsd started...

Post by Doug Le » Wed, 31 Aug 1994 11:33:09

I apologise for cross-posting to so many groups, but I originally posted to but didn't get any responses :(

Whenever rpc.nfsd tries to start, I get the following error:

Quote:> Cannot register service: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused
> unable to register(NFS_PROGRAM, NFS_VERSION, UDP).

Boot messages regarding NET versions are:

Quote:> Swansea University Computer Society NET3.016
> Swansea University Computer Society IPX 0.26 BETA for NET3.016
> NET3 TCP/IP protocols stack v016
> IP Protocols: ICMP, UDP, TCP
> PPP: version 0.2.7 (4 channels) NEW_TTY_DRIVERS OPTIMIZE_FLAGS
> TCP compression code copyright 1989 Regents of the University of California
> PPP line discipline registered.
> SLIP: version 0.7.5-NET3.014-NEWTTY (4 channels)
> CSLIP: code copyright 1989 Regents of the University of California
> 3c503 probe at 0x300: 02 60 8C A7 3E 13
> eth0: 3C503 with shared memory at 0xd8000-0xd9fff,

I've RTFMP, and the NET-2-HOWTO, and anything else I could think of without
success.  I've checked th obvious things like having nfs in /etc/services.

Any help would be appreciated!  You can email me any ideas to not waste
net-bandwidth :)

Thanks in advance!
