1. Linux box as fileserver to DOS box via parallel?

Is there some way I can hook up my linux box to my dos box? I have a
parallel cable that can be used (was used before to copy files between
the two 'puters (dos to dos).) Should I somehow set up a network
instead? (I am network-illiterate :)

thanks for your help..
