Free Linux Installs and Demos coming to Falls Church, *ia on Aug. 22 1998

Washington, DC Area Linux user groups are holding a LinuxFest on Saturday,
August 22nd, 1998 from 10 am to 4 pm, at the *ia Tech Northern *ia
Center (next to the West Falls Church Metro).  See Linux in action on several
hardware platforms, sporting innovative new graphical user interfaces and
applications.  Or bring your computer and have Linux installed for free with
expert help!

Linux is the fastest-growing alternative to Microsoft operating systems,
offering legendary robustness, speed, advanced features, and freely available
source code.  It is attracting attention among business, end-users, and the
press.  The inventor of Linux, Linus Torvalds, was recently on the cover of
Forbes magazine and continues to lead Linux kernel development.

Red Hat Software, the world's leading Linux distributor, will be offering
installs of an exciting new beta version of Red Hat Linux, promotional items,
and version 5.1 for the more cautious.

If you are planning on having your system upgraded, please send an email to

what sort of system it is (Desktop PC, Laptop PC, Mac, SPARC, Alpha, etc.)
and anything you think is unusual about it.  Either a CD-ROM drive or an
Ethernet card is required.  All installations must start by 2 pm to ensure
that they finish by closing time.
