Howdy! Is there any utility or file that will allow me to capture the
screen image of Netscape when I'm in X-windows? I'd like to screen capture
a Web page, and then import them into Pagemaker under Windows..Thanx in
advance for any help..

I don't know whether one of the snapshot-tools has been ported to Linux,
but I use XV for that (allthough it might be overkill...). Works great
and gives me a LOT of formats to save.

AFAIR, the wonderful program "xv" will do this, you can select the
grab button and then click on a window in question, the image will
then be held within XV for you to save or mess about with to your
heart's content :)

Allegedly of course.

Just use plain old xwd.
Type 'xwd >file' and click the window you want to capture.

But won't the "file" be in xwd dump format?  Does anything actually
read this format other than xwud?  xv works pretty well for me.
Run xv, then click grab, then click on the Netscape window.  Save it
as a gif, jpeg, bmp, or any format that pagemaker can import.

1. Request Screen Capture / Print Screen utility

Does anyone know of a PD "screen capture" or "printscreen" utility for AIX?
I normally work on a DECstation, and we have a screen capture utility which
can grab a portion of the screen and turn it into a postscript file.
I need to be able to do the same thing on the IBM when running X11 (R4, I
think).

Please reply by e-mail, for I do not often read this newsgroup.
Thanks for your help.
