Advice needed for /etc/vga/libvga.conf -- Please help

Post by Kevin L. Schi » Fri, 05 Dec 1997 04:00:00

What docs should I read that will help figure out how to
setup my /etc/vga/libvga.conf file? I have a Mystique 220
and see that there aren't selections for the Mystique chipset
or ramdac.
  superProbe gives me this information on my card;

  First video: Super-VGA
        Chipset: Oak OTI-087 (Port Probed)
        Memory:  256 Kbytes
        RAMDAC:  Generic 8-bit pseudo-color DAC
(with 6-bit wide lookup tables (or in 6-bit mode))

Why does it think I have an Oak? I have a Mystique 220 with 4 megs.
  What's up

Please help me out with this one guys (and girls). I'd love to get
it set up right. Quake (squake really) looks so much better in hi-res.

PLease note that my return address is faked.

SVGAlib has been commonly considered obsolete for the last couple of
years.  There have been rumors of work on support of newer cards; the
Millenium in particular.  But that is surely not in place with anything
likely to get installed by default.

Most likely answer: You'll be running XQuake...
