Is there a technical documentation regarding the KDE desktop of Red
Hat Linux. I am facing various problems with KDE and cannot revert
back to the GNOME desktop using Desktop Switching Tool.
Anyone aware of a documentation can help me.

Does anyone know how is the default environment path set in RedHat
Linux.

look in .xinitrc, .Xclients, for startkde and comment it out. edit inittab
to make 3 the default run level. reboot, startx, and run gnome-session.

In RH7 the 'switchdesk' utility was a bit "shifted" in KDE, the icons next
to menu were not positioned according to text items. Just look at the icons
instead of text and select the item next to the Gnome icon (if it isn't
listed, select another with non-kde icon and rerun 'switchdesk' from there).
Also, it is IMPORTANT NOT to SAVE your KDE session when exiting after
selecting another environment, otherwise KDE will start when you login
again.
