mpg123 sound protocol isn't compatible

Post by Matt Garm » Thu, 21 Oct 1999 04:00:00

I compiled mpg123 with alsa support (I'm running alsa with alsa libs and
alsa utils 0.4).  But mpg123 doesn't want to work, saying:

open failed: Sound protocol isn't compatible

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks,
Matt

1. SOUND...sounds good, isn't it?

: Hello everybody,

:       I've just setup my Linux system w/ X. And now, I want
:       to mount /dev/sound to my sound blaster. What can I
:       do to achieve this?

:       It's simple for mouse and modem, since it's done when
:       installing the system. Well, How about a sound card? Do I
:       need addittional packages? If yes, which one? and
:       where?

:       Besides, my modem is a v32bis 14.4kbps data/fax modem,
:       how can I take over the boundary of 9600?

:       Thanks very much of your professional help!
:       It's very kind of you, if you would email the responds.

:       Thousands Thanx!!!

: Andrew
