sunsite the gcc binary is this correct . Im told I need this for kde to
install correctly.

In the GCC directory on Sunsite, along with the libc, is a file called
release.libc.5.x.xx.  Get it, read it.

My question is what has happened to gcc on sunsite?  The GCC directory no
longer has it.

1. HELP: libc5.2.18 and locale setup

I need to have LC_CTYPE set to iso_8859_1 but as soon as I do this, a
bunch of apps (perl5, etc.) start complaining:

warning: setlocale(LC_CTYPE, "") failed.
warning: LC_ALL = "(null)", LC_CTYPE = "iso_8859_1", LANG = "(null)",
warning: falling back to the "C" locale.

What do I have to do to fix this? I'm running Linux 1.2.13 with libc
5.2.18... Help!
