Very Computer

i have a questions i've got 2 computers running linux and i've hooked them
up using ethernet and it works i can telnet to my other computer and
everthing, but is it possible for me to telnet to other sites using 1
computer which has a PPP connection to my isp.

computer 2 is my computer that i want to use to telnet outside my little
network at home... i've messed arounf w/ my ROUTE command and messed
around w/combinations of the route table but i still can't get it
to route packets from the ethernet to ppp0 on computer #1.

Well, it is a little difficult since computer 2 doesn't have a real IP
address, so no packets can be addressed to it.  Your best bet is to use a
program such as SLiRP or TIA.  These will essentially allow computer 2 to
"borrow" TCP/UDP ports from computer 1, both on the same IP address.
I have used SLiRP to turn a dial up shell account into a pseudo-PPP account,
and it worked great.  I have no experience personally with TIA (it is
commercial, SLiRP is freeware).  Note that with either of these certain
functions are impossible, most notably talk, though with a little tweaking,
you might be able to get it if you turn of talkd on computer 1...
