My home machine is an ISA-only 486DX-33 & I'm painfulling using a
Trident display card. The Trident is ok until it starts scrolling an
xterm window, as with a lengthy directory or file cat. The scroll is
painfully slow.
My work machine has a motherboard S3 implementation & is very fast --
the scrolls flash into place; however, the motherboard & 32-bit slot
implementations benchmark much faster than all the ISA stuff.
I saw a benchmark that indicate the Actix GE32 is some 12 times faster
than the Trident. I like to get a feel for what real performance
improvement I should expect.
Cheers, Bob
