Hi,
I'm trying to burn a bunch of my CD's as MP3's using gcombust. I will
be listening to the files in an MP3 player (a Panasonic SL-SV550 if
that matters any). I've burned a few CD's already but I've noticed
that the order in which the player reads the albums (NOT the tracks),
is not the order in which I expected them. Since my albums form a
sequence, I really want the first album to be the first CD, the second
album to be the second CD, etc. In other word, if I have a set of CD's
called "Music of the '80s" in 5 CD's 80-81, 82-83, 84-85, 86-87, 88-89,
they form 5 albums (to the MP3 player). What I want, is to ensure that if
I press Play and let it run, I hear the songs in that order. Problem is, I
sometimes don't get that.
I ripped the CD's in the order I want them to play on the MP3 player,
then I entered each directory in the order I want them to be played and
combusted. When I play the resulting CD, though, it's all mixed up. I'm
not sure what determines the order in which the files will be burned. THe
User guide says "Depending on how the MP3 files were created, they may not
be read in their numerical order or may not be readable at all." Of
course, they don't specify anything pmore than that.
So my question to you is: can I predict, or program, the order of a CD
burned with gcombust?
Thanks,
L
