Mailer Package opinions wanted: CommuniGate Pro

Mailer Package opinions wanted: CommuniGate Pro

Post by Adam Finkelste » Wed, 15 Dec 1999 04:00:00

Hello.
We're thinking of upgrading our mail set-up. CommuniGate Pro is a possible
solution, as is Postfix. I wonder if anyone has experience with CommuniGate
Pro and if they'd share it? I would be more than happy to summarize any
emailed responses back to Usenet.

I personally would opt for Postfix. If any pros/cons of this versus
CommuniGate Pro are out there, please share them.

Thanks!

Adam

1. Problems getting fetchmail to work with communigate pro

I've been trying to get fetchmail (both the latest RH 7.1 rpm and one
built from the latest sources) to communicate with Communigate (both
with and without SSL) but it ain't working.

When I look in the fetchmail log, I see the following:

fetchmail: 5.7.4 querying mail.bravepoint.com (protocol POP3) at Thu 26
Jul 2001 08:34:55 AM EDT
fetchmail: POP3< +OK CommuniGate Pro POP3 Server 3.4.8 ready

fetchmail: Query status=3 (AUTHFAIL)
fetchmail: Deleting fetchids file.
fetchmail: fetchmail: sleeping at Thu 26 Jul 2001 08:34:55 AM EDT

It sees that I have a message (or sometimes multiple messages) but it
doesn't seem to be able to get thru.

Here is my .fetchmailrc:

# Configuration created Thu Jul 26 08:06:51 2001 by fetchmailconf
set logfile "/home/jrh/.fetchmail.log"
set postmaster "jrh"
set bouncemail
set no spambounce
set properties ""
poll mail.bravepoint.com via mail.bravepoint.com
with proto POP3 port 995
user 'jrh' there with password 'blankedout' is jrh here options
keep warnings 3600 ssl
    antispam 571 550 501 554

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John
