        Hello,

I was wondering if there is already Linux/X support
for the Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM (S3-968) -graphics
        board??

Traditional Stealth 64 VRAM (S3-964) has been supported
        for about 3 months??

I would greatly appreciate if you also answer via email,
because the expire time in my newsserver is only 2 days.

        Thank you!

        Kari.

Yes, get newest XFree86 (it's a week old, forgot the versionlevel).
Don't forget to put "option slow_vram" in the Xconfig86 file.
It works like a charm, I've got the benchmark it sometime.

I use this card. The newest version , 3.1.2 supports it. You should visit the
diamond web site (www.diamondmm.com) - they have info about what your settings
should be and so on.

1. Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM or ATI Graphics Pro Turbo (Mach 64)?

I'm looking into getting a Micron P120PCI Millennia Plus system for
running Linux and XFree86. The Micron upgrade choices for video cards
are:

 - Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM    - 2MB or 4MB
 - ATI Graphics Pro Turbo (Mach 64) - 2MB or 4MB

Which is better supported in XFree86?

Is there any significant speed difference between these two cards for
XFree86?

I've heard that some cards run faster w/4MB than 2MB due to memory
interleaving or double wide bus access.  Do either of these two cards
have this property or is the only difference for these cards the
number of colors supported at higher resolutions?

Thanks,
Doug
