I know that somewhere there is a file containings the settings
of the video card. (not a config file)
I thought it was in /proc but I can't find it.
Someone please jog my memory

/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
for >= XFree86 4.0
there are special options
(like twinview) for the NVidia graphic cards,
read the Installation guide at http://www.nvidia.com

Is /proc/nv/cardX (probably card0) what you're looking for?
