Strange problem with modprobe

Strange problem with modprobe

Post by Ville Holm » Thu, 03 Sep 1998 04:00:00

I've got an updated RH 5.1 Linux running at work. I couldn't get my
modules working and turns out that there is a strange problem with
'modprobe'. Here's what happens when I try to run it:

Quote:> [bash]# modprobe fat
> conf:3: unknown keyword "/sbin/modprobe"

It doesn't work even if I give the absolute path to the modules.
'insmod' on the other hand works just fine.

I'm using kernel versions 2.0.35 and 2.1.117 and the problem is the same
for both of them. The system is a regular Pentium based one.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Ville

Looks like your modules config file has a bad line in it. Check out line 3.
