1. AX 25 & TNC 2 ???

I'm wanting to set up somthing in linux to comunicate with my mfj tnc2
tnc. I compiled the ax25 stuff into the kernel and am not shure how to
set it up or even if I need to...
Also I downloaded somthing called dptnt that sounded like a good
terminal program but so far am unsuccessfull in getting it to work

Any suggestions  from Ham's out there??
