Is a dvd-rom mounted just like mounting a cdrom or is something else
required? Maybe it is just that the one I tried is Windows specific
filesystem, so the only thing that shows up is the current dir (.), not
even the parent dir. SuSE 7.1 with self compiled kernel 2.4.3
/etc/fstab entry:
/dev/cdrom /cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/dvd /dvd auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/cdrom and /dev/dvd are symlinks to /dev/scd0 (SCSI emulation of ATAPI
DVD/CD-RW)
compaq:~ # mount /dvd
compaq:~ # ls -al /dvd
total 1
dr-xr-xr-x 1 root root 1 Jan 24 2000 .
compaq:~ # df | grep dvd
/dev/scd0 3601516 3601516 0 100% /dvd
dmesg entry when mounted:
VFS: Disk change detected on device sr(11,0)
ISO 9660 Extensions: Microsoft Joliet Level 3
ISOFS: changing to secondary root
df can see the mounted disk space, but ls cannot see anything on it (this
secondary root might explain why there is no parent dir). Mounting it
with dvd-rom inserted seems to do the same thing. Is there something that
I am missing?
The directories and files on the dvd-rom are visible in the same drive in
Win98.
