kernel: Sound: Recording overrun

kernel: Sound: Recording overrun

Post by Andreas Steff » Sun, 25 Apr 1999 04:00:00

Hi

When I record from /dev/dsp using sox like this:

sox -t ossdsp /dev/dsp -r 44100 -s -w -c 2 foo.wav

The kernel complains

kernel: Sound: Recording overrun

and foo.wav is screwed.

Is this is a scheduling-/buffering problem ?
Any suggestions how to approach this problem ?

1. Sound: Recording overrun 2.1.90

Hi,

Although my C is not really good enough to figure out why.....

I get Sound: Recording overrun regularly under 2.1.90, Even though It's
P233MMX with no other tasks and wavrec is nice -19 and I've set it to
"realtime"

This used to work fine under 2.0.33.... any ideas.. 2.1.91-pre1 seems to
have loads of SB patches but I hope I am not the only one to encounter
this..... otherwise 2.1.90 seems very stable in my environment....
