yep.  just use the install disks.  they support installing or upgrading by
ftp.  one of the first couple of questions will be whether you want to do
an upgrade or an install.

Does the RH install program allow ftp upgrades via PPP yet?

How have peoples updates been going ? Right now out of the 5 boxes that we
have tried to update, were only successful on 2, had to do install on the
other 3. All boxes were RedHat5.0 with updates, Adaptec 2940's, Digital 21140
PCI ethernet, 64meg Ram, ATI video cards. The Error in all cases was lost
connect to FTP server and panic. This is an internal  FTP server , with no
load other then the upgrade/install. Any help with what we are doing wrong
would help. 2 out of 5 is not good enough , we have a total of 40 machines and
to have to reinstall 24 would be a pain in the a#*.

Ken

The problem is likely to be at the other end.  The ftp.redhat.com
server is probably swamped, for obvious reasons, and so are many
mirrors.  Best to download the whole distribution to a local disk
and install the others from there; i.e., create your own mirror.
Use ncftp, which can resume a partial download.

  Thanks Tom
I guess I didn't make things quite clear enough. Our problem  has got no
better, we have found that if we upgrade a 5.0 box with none of the patches or
upgrades thinks go all right, (as long as we don't try to customize the
upgrade).
