Total Memory Dump analysis under Linux?

Total Memory Dump analysis under Linux?

Post by Carl » Sun, 27 Feb 2000 04:00:00

A question from a System V administrator:
we are considering porting our huge system to Linux.
Is that possible to make Total Memory Dumps under Linux?
Are there any programs to analyze TMDs (i.e. crash)?

Thank you in advance for any advice.
Carlo.

1. Crash Dump Analysis: POSIX Shared Memory

I have a quick crash dump-related question.

For Solaris 8 (or newer), if the system crashes and produces a crash
dump, is there a way to display the contents of any POSIX shared
memory files? Are there particular options that would need to be set
up to do this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Tom
