Can't compile with X11R5 and X11R6 !

Can't compile with X11R5 and X11R6 !

Hi Linuxer,

I have problems to compile a Programm with g++ and Motif 1.2.4.
I have also the libs for /X11R5 and /X11R6 and it thems to me
that he wants the old libX11 and ..Xt.

I get the following error message:

so I found that there are links in /X11R6 to the /X11R5 files like

        libXt.sa.3
        libX11.sa.3

and there is only  one /usr/lib/libXm.sa

Do anyone have experience with this ? So please answer me urgently. I need it
for
my Diploma !!! :-((

1. How to for X11R5 with X11R6 and R5 compatibility shared libs?

Hello,

As the subject line says, I would like to compile some apps linked with the
R5 shared libraries even if my system has the whole R6 tree installed. (I need  
to be able to produce binaries for the people that are still using R5). I  
tried to do that (for example by putting the R5 .so in a specific dir and  
using -L) but this does not work: ldd always show dependency from R6  
libraries.

is there a mean to do that? If I need to get new libraies (like a libX11.a and  
not .so), are the R5 versions still available, and where?
