Hello,
I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone could give me. I
just recompiled my kernel and after booting the new kernel it apparently
locked up when I tried to start X Windows. I had to press RESET to
reboot. When rebooting on the old kernel it was unable to mount the
filesystem. A message were printed saying that EXT2-fs group descriptors
were corrupted. My question is how do I go about fixing this? I am
able to boot using the boot and root disk I used to install the
distribution (Slackware), but I don't know what to do then. I need to
fix this problem soon as I am right in the middle of writing my Ph.D.
dissertation.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Dan
