Problem with tabs in rxvt

Post by John Broadhea » Fri, 10 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I'm having trouble with displaying tabs in rxvt.

If I cat or more a file that contains tabs, the tab character will force
the cursor to the end of the line. This only seems to happen in rxvt,
since it seems to work fine in xterm and the regular linux console.

Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

I'm using RedHat 6.1 and rxvt 2.6.1.

1. Script GURUs - a tab is a tab is a tab

I have ascii files created by various people I want to run something
that will look for tabs and based on the tab length convert tabs to the
right number of spaces, however the above people use various tab
lengths and do their indenting a little differently. Does someone out
there have a solution to this type of situation?????

you might have a solution.

Thanks in advance
