Can anyone comment, either here or via email, about the reliability,
and so forth, of current model IBM SCSI-II 1 gig drives.  I'd be happy
to hear about your experiences, all the more so if you used them under
Linux or other PC-unix.

Well,
I'm using the OEM 0662-S12 drive. I've no problems with it. Compared
to my Quantum LPS 240 and LPS 540. It's noisy. I don't know if
other 1GB drives are lower.
