Netscape has it's own icon. When I create a shortcut on the desktop, then it
has a default KDE Icon. How can I assign it the real Netscape icon?

Right-click the desktop icon, select Properties.  The window that pops
up will show the default KDE icon inside something that looks like a KDE
button.  CLick on that thing that looks like a button.  (In KDE, if it
looks like a button, it's clickable, and you should click it at least
once just to see what'll happen.)

Thanks. It's not really intuitive because I looked into the properties, but I
hand't though of the icon as being a button as well. :)

Interesting that you said "It's not intuitive", 'cause I remember that
MacOS 7 had a very similar mechanism for changing a file's icon.  And
MacOS is widely held up as the holy grail of good or intuitive
interfaces....

Don't know about that, but when I see a gfx then I think it is a gfx. :) When
I noticed that big icon I thought this is only to make the look of the dialog
ab bit nicer and show what icon is used for that link. The funny thing is that
I once pressed it and noticed that it is a button, but I didn't remeber it
next time I opened the porperties dialog.

1. Desktop Icon text on KDE 2

I'm using KDE 2 beta 4 on RedHat 6.2.

How do I change the text under the desktop icons from black to white?
I found out how to changed the default text for everthing, but I just
want to change the text of the desktop icons.

Thanks!
