Very Computer

I've just installed the latest libraries/init as specified in the 2.0.4
Changes file, and now whenever I try to shut my machine down (shutdown -r
now) I get a "shutdown already running" message. If I try cancelling with a
shutdown -c nothing happens. Any ideas?

I got this message a while ago. I just went into /etc/rc.d/ and run the
rc.6 script. However, this won't be a good solution if the message
appears every time.

You have managed to get a shutdown.pid file in your /etc/ directory.
Delete this and all should be fine.

Actually, I think he needs to get the latest sysvinit package.....I had the same
problem after upgrading to kernel 2.0.0.

Did you ever receive an answer to this?  After upgrading my kernel to
2.0.1, I get this also.
