prbl with Acrobat Reader in Suse 6.4 for pdf files with math fonts

Hello

I have a strange Problem:

When I produce a pdf file, from a*source containing math, with
integrals and brackets, by using the ghostscript
with the command
dvips -Ppdf -G0,

I cannot display this pdf file with Acrobat reader 4.05 under Suse
6.4.

Acrobat reader displays the following  message:

Unable to extract the embedded fonts SOME_FONT+CMEX10, some characters may
not display or print correctly.

In facts integrals and brackets just do not appear.

I have done several tests with different tetex versions and different
ghostscript versions, form 6.52 to 7.01 to 7.04, the result is the
same.
Also this pdf file can be seen in the same acrobat reader under Suse
7.2 or in windows.

I have done several test with various documentclass, like article,
seminar and prosper and different additional packages like
pslatex or mathmpx, no difference.

Unfortunately I cannot use pdflatex nor dvipdfm since I use pstricks.
The only kludge which occurred to me is to work with type 1 fonts, via
the pslatex package and skip the
-Ppdf -G0

option,  then letters and most symbols are fine, but
integrals and brackets are not, since I guess bitmap fonts are used.

All this leads me to the conclusion that something is wrong with Suse
setting, may be in the X environment? Definitely acrobat reader does
not find the CMEX10 font.

Any help or suggestion would be strongly appreciated.

Try to fix the PDF file with ps2pdf maybe? This rewrites the pdf file and
could fix any bug.

Another idea might be to update the tetex distribution in SuSE with a newer
snapshot. A lot of errors have been fixed and the improved hyperref, xdvi
and pdflatex alone are worth the effort.
