How to make Linux to support Two-Bytes charactors ?

Post by Karen Cha » Mon, 07 Apr 1997 05:00:00

Hello, anybody !

When I telnet to my linux host, I have found that I cannot enter and
view any two bytes-charactors such as Korea Language, Japanese and
Chinese. 'cos the Linux host has filtered the Two-Bytes codes.

Can you tell me how to disable my Linux host to filter the two-bytes
code in order to make me to view/enter two-bytes charactors ?

I want to enter/view the Korea(Hangul) Lanuage with "joe", "pine",
"talk"
or other utilities via TELNET. Therefore, no need to install any fonts
in
my Linux host because I have Korea fonts in my Windows 95.

Can you tell me how to make my Linux to support two-bytes
charactor-sets  ?

Thanks for your help !

Best Rgds. Karen

Unicode is possible,  I seem to remember there is even a Klingon mapping.
You may get some ideas by reading the JE-HOWTO, even though that is for
Japanese.   Hope this helps.
