HELP: Cyclades board (Cyclom 8Yo) and Modems

Post by Tony Galw » Tue, 11 Apr 1995 04:00:00

I am trying to get a Cyclades board, Cyclom-8Yo, working properly with
some US Robotics 14.4 modems. But the best I can get is 9600 baud out
of them. I have successfully installed internal USR 28.8 modems, and run
slip quite nicely off of them, but on the Cyclom board, I am having
problems.

Anyway, I have installed the board, and can run at 9600 baud with no
problems, but I am unable to get any higher. The modem does connect
at 14.4 but I can't get the terminal connection any faster (stty will tell
me I am running at 9600, and you can tell the difference in refresh rates
compared to the 14.4 modems running off a dec terminal server).

I am using uugetty v2.0.7d , the line in my inittab is
C0:45:respawn:/sbin/uugetty ttyC0 38400 vt100

and the line in my gettydefs is

I have tried loads of different things, changing the modem configuration,
using agetty, I am not exactly a guru so I am stumped. Any suggestions or
help will be appreciated.

Thanks
-Tony
