I have 8Mb of RAM and I would like to know the recommended swap size to have the
fastest system. I heard that I only need the complement to 16 Mb, so 8 Mb swap.
Would 16 Mb swap be better ?

There was a discussion recently concerning this.  Basically, you should
have MORE swap than RAM, because Linux does not free pages in swap it is
using to store what's in RAM.  This is so it can avoid having to re-write
RAM pages into swap if they haven't been changed.

It all depends on how much memory you need:

    Swap Space = Desired Memory

But a good starting point would be to have twice as much swap space as
physical RAM.
