Linux pager utility??

Post by Michael C Du » Sun, 26 May 1996 04:00:00

        Hi,

My company is looking for a utility to probe several websites on our
Linux server, and if one goes down to activate a pager carried by one of
our technicians.  Does this sort of software exist already.  I am just
checking so that I may be able to avoid re-inventing the wheel again.

                                                Thanks

1. Alphanumeric pager utility

I would like to know if anyone knows of a utility for UNIX (Solaris
2.4) which can send text messages to an alphanumeric pager.  Basically
the utility would be able to dial the pager host and send a specific
message to a specific pager (or group of pagers)...

Something like:

pager pager-host-phone-number pager-pin "message"

....you get the idea....

I know there are utilities like this for Windows, but I would like to
be able to do this from Solaris...

Please Email me if you know of anything like this.  We are willing to
pay for a product if it is available.
