Change Console Resolution?

Post by David Solbac » Mon, 30 Jun 2003 03:56:40

Hi there,

is it possible to change my console resolution while runtime?
I read that I could use resizecons command for that, but:

resizecons: bad number of arguments

but..

Usage:  resizecons COLSxROWS
        resizecons COLS ROWS
        resizecons -lines ROWS, with ROWS one of 25, 28, 30, 34,36, 40, 44, 50, 60

so, what have I done wrong, or is there another possibility?

Thank you,

David

I don't see anything wrong here. It works like a charm on my RedHat 8.0. Either
your "resizecons" is broken or your m/c is what it's name suggests ;-)

It seems to be a bug in your version of 'resizecons'.  It works just
fine here (Debian/testing).  Unfortunately, 'resizecons' doesn't seem to
give a version number.  What distro are you using?

console-tools-0.2.3-42mdk.i586

mandrake 9.1

all packages should be up to date

is there another possibility to change console resolution during
runtime?

Try --lines 60 instead, go figure ...
