I use Linux 1.2.13 ( Slackware 3.0 ) on a notebook.
I've got PCMCIA card :RPTI EP400 Ethernet Card ( irq 3, ioaddr 0x300 )
and try it on several different laptops
with the same result - pcmcia package : pcmcia-cs-2.6.3
recognizes controller, and displays slot status correctly ( I think so ) :
$ cardctl status
card present, ready, write protect
But when I try 'cardctl config' it reports :
$ cardctl config
ioctl(): I/O error
ioctl(): No such device
If I try cardmgr program ( just as at machine startup ) it writes to log
( prefix of messages skipped ) :
watching 2 sockets
Initializing socket 0
socket 0: RPTI EP400 Ethernet Card
executing ' .. skipped ../net/8390.o'
executing ' .. skipped ../pcmcia/de650_cs.o'
no dev info for socket 0
de650_cd: ParseTuple: Unknown error code
The card normally works when I boot dos with novell drivers.
So, the question is :
- what about pcmcia-cs-2.6.3 and Slakware 3 combination ?
any good expierience ?
- is there patch for the card I mentioned ?
- is there any hint in system configuration ?
- should I use another tools for PCMCIA cards ?
- any other help ?
