bash: keybind a string with <Enter>?

bash: keybind a string with <Enter>?

Post by Vincent Fati » Sun, 06 Sep 1998 04:00:00

Is this possible in bash ... binding a string (command) to a key with a terminal
<Enter> embedded in the string? That is, when I press a certain key, I'd like a
command executed rather than just put on the command line. I know the .inputrc
technique, but not how to get the <Enter> in the string.

Please email.

Thanks.

Got it! In the quoted command string, put a literal ^M (done, for example with
emacs by ^Q^M).

1. <><><> MOUNTING EXTENDED PARTITION <><><>

I have a 10 GB UDMA IDE drive formatted with Windows.  The first partition
is FAT32, and the second is NTFS.  I can successfully mount the first, but
not the second.  Any ideas?

Suse 7.2 on i86
the drive is mounted on /dev/hdc, and I CAN see hda1, but not hda2
