GNU tar source?

Post by Jaewan Kim - AST » Wed, 25 Sep 1996 04:00:00

I checked out the source code from prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu, but the
tar-file was corrupted.
Where else is it kept?

1. tar/gnu tar question

I'm burning a bunch of logfiles (5-6 GB worth) to CD. I'm already using
the -T option with an includefile to get at the files I want. However, these
smaller archives are often too big to fit on a CD-R (650MB +/-).

What I'd like to do is break a 5GB+ archive into multiple "burnable" volumes
of 650MB.

I've read the O'Reilly UNIX Power Tools section on tar, but didn't find
anything directly applicable. Any ideas out there?

Thanks,
Rob
