Hello,

Has anyone else had this problem?

After upgrading my kernel to 2.2 (I
went to first 2.2.1 now 2.2.3)
rvplayer doesn't work.
The utility starts up no problem but
when I try to play any rm file I
get:

****audio: write error: 384 bytes
errno: 0

in the shell that spawned it.  The
pluggin doesn't work either.  My sb
16 card is otherwise working fine.
Most of my audio utilities can still
play through the soundcard.  I've
upgraded my entire system to be a
full Redhat 5.2 and mod_utils I
upgraded to the latest version.
Could I be missing a library or a
compile option?

If anyone has any ideas how this can
be solved, any help would be much
appreciated.

I had a similar problem with rvplayer.  Turns out it may be fixed
by a patch to the rvplayer binary.  If you do this, be absolutely
certain to copy your original rvplayer binary, just in case.

Here's the three lines you need to type to "fix" rvplayer:

dd if=/dev/zero of=rvplayer bs=1 count=1 seek=657586 conv=notrunc
dd if=/dev/zero of=rvplayer bs=1 count=1 seek=665986 conv=notrunc
dd if=/dev/zero of=rvplayer bs=1 count=1 seek=702554 conv=notrunc

With any luck you should now have a working rvplayer!

Your fix worked, thanks.  Do you know if this can be applied to the
pluggin as well?

1. Kernel 2.2 IP MASQ NET doesn't work (SuSEFirewall)

Hi NG,

I've got a little problem last night and hope someone may help me
here.

Running SuSE Linux Kernel 2.2 with ipchains. Got an private LAN DMZ
and one puplic static IP vor the world.

In the DMZ is a web and mail server. Until now proxies handle request
on the public ip and forward them to the DMZ Servers. Because of
logging and Anti-Spam solution I must forward the requests without a
proxy. As I was told in a newsgroup the best way to do this is to use
NAT on the gateway.

In the file firewall.rc.config I changed the following:

FW_FORWARD_MASQ_TCP="0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,192.168.x.x,80
0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,192.168.x.x,25 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,192.168.x.x,443
0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0,192.168.x.x,110"

But it doesn't work. May anybody give me a hint. Thank you in advance
