from="Common Lisp Organization New York City announcement"
The NYC Lisp meeting is now scheduled for this coming Tuesday evening in
midtown Manhattan. This timeslot seems to be, by far, the most amenable
to the group members so far. Here are the details:
Time: 7:00 PM
Date: Tuesday, November 19 2002
225 West 35th Street (near corner of 7th Ave)
New York, NY 10001
This is around the corner from Penn Station. I'm sure everyone knows
how to get there, but in case you don't, almost any subway will get you
If anyone has any issues or questions, email or call me:
I'm gonna try to bring some snacks and drinks, but if anyone wants to
volunteer with this stuff, please feel free, and let me know what you'd
like to bring. I think there's a lot to discuss, and so we should try
to be self-sufficient for a while. We'll have a conference room with a
large table that can accomodate all of us.
I've set up this email (for now), until we can decide on how we will
operate Internet-wise. That will be one of the discussion points on the
I have a loose idea of some of the things we'll discuss. They are:
1) setting up a Web-based group (including mailing list, discussions,
events calendar, etc...maybe Y! Groups?)
2) setting up a schedule of when, where, and how often we meet
3) basic goals of meetings...for example:
o teaching and promoting CL locally
o establishing a network to assist developers in finding
o discussing personal projects that we can start to work on
collectively, in groups
And of course the basic format of our meetings.
I look forward to seeing everyone there.
