linux appletalk router problem

Post by Chris Szilagy » Fri, 21 Aug 1998 04:00:00

I was wondering if anybody could help me with routing appletalk on
linux.  I've got a firewall (with RH 5.0 and the latest version of
asun's netatalk from hurricane contrib) set up to route between a
university network and our own private network.  The problem is when I'm

on the university network I cannot see the file servers (in the chooser)

on the private network all the time.  If I sit there for about 5-10
minutes, they will pop up for a few seconds, then disappear.  Even when
the names are there it takes about 30 seconds to make a connection.
But, if I'm on a workstation on the private side of the router,
everything works fine, the names appear in the chooser like normal on
both sides (private and university side).  Is this a problem that
anybody else is having?!?! Or can anybody suggest something that might
need to be done?!?
Thanks in advance....
