Gnome 1.4, galeon/mozilla, and PSM

Post by Captain Dond » Sat, 06 Jul 2002 00:07:00

I am running RH 7.3, Gnome 1.4, and mozilla 1.0.

For some strange reason, I can't access any https: web sites.

I get a message that I need to install PSM. I have mozilla-psm installed.
I've reinstalled all of the mozilla rpms, but no joy.  I can't think of
anything else that I can do; is there anything I need to do to activate
psm in mozilla/galleon?

The error is the same in both mozilla and galeon.

Any ideas?

Did you install mozilla-nspr-devel and mozilla-nss-devel ? After
installing those, I stopped having the PSM problems.

Did you do the upgrade to Mozilla 1.0? I found that Mozilla 1.0 from Ximian
is screwed up in some manner and that psm doesn't work. I
unistalled mozilla and galeon then did a reinstall of the original Redhat
7.3 Mozilla RPMs from the Redhat CDROMS.

1. Anyone using Galeon (Gnome mozilla based browser)

Has anyone got this to work, i installed it from the ports collection about
a week ago, and cannot get it to go to a web site...

It happily browses the file system, but will not go on line. I've configured
proxies etc as in netscape.
