Kernel 2.2.0-pre9 and kerneld

Post by Jay Brambl » Tue, 26 Jan 1999 04:00:00

I have RH5.2 installed as a base line.  I have compiled and installed
2.2.0-pre9.

Now Kernel Configurator (kerneld) will not run do to the fact that it cant
find the "module-info" file for 2.2 in the /boot dir.
It works when I boot into 2.0.36.  That version of module-info is there.

How do I make a new module-info file for  2.2?

Jay,
read the file : /usr/src/linux/Documentation/Changes
There you find all necessary information, e.g. which
versions of modutils you need.

2.2 kernels do not use kerneld, instead the use kmod.
