xmkmf problems-update

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
What follows is the result when I tried to create a makefile prior to
installing libXaw3d using xmkmf. I have had this result occasionally
before as well. I have a Slakware installation which has evolved
somewhat over the past year or so, and apparently the evolution has
cause one of the imake files to point to the wrong place. I just can't
find out where. Any help would be appreciated.

Jack Connolly

bash# xmkmf
mv -f Makefile Makefile.bak
imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/config
imake: No such file or directory: Cannot exec /lib/cpp.  Stop.
imake: Exit code 1.  Stop.

FOLLOWUP:

I discovered since the first posting is that my problem is due the
installation of Mootif (Jan 1997 from InfoMagic). Their solution to the
problem is that I should reinstall Xfree86 3.1.2, (Xfree86 3.2 is
installed now) which I am reluctant to do. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
