Hi,

I am hunting for a performance monitoring package working on Solaris 2.x
platform which has the capability of maintaining its own database and
generating different kinds of reports, anybody knows about any good package?

Thanks.

Performance Monitoring

I am currently reviewing products from Landmark, BMC, and Platinum.
They will all monitor the solaris os (and more) and are all nice tools
depending on what you want.

1. Good performance monitoring software for Solaris?

We have recently acquired a couple of SparcCenter 2000s to act as Sybase
servers. We would like to acquire some performance monitoring software. Among
the tasks which we would like this software to perform are:

Data collection with user defined intervals
Memory usage data
Disk queue information
Disk controller queue information
Ethernet controller usage information
CPU usage information
AI which provides suggestions for tuning (i.e. "this is your current
                                                bottlneck, here's how you fix
                                                it")

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Jim Heid
