Sol 2.5 NIS Server & 2.4 NIS Client?

Sol 2.5 NIS Server & 2.4 NIS Client?

Does anyone know if it's possible to have a Solaris 2.4 NIS client
talk to a Solaris 2.5 NIS Server?  If it's possible, and anyone out
there is doing it, have you experienced any problems, caused by
this combination?  Reason I don't want to run 2.5 on the one client
is that support for it's graphics card ended with 2.4...

1. Problems with Sol 2.4 print server and 2.5 clients


Me too. I've recently defined a remote printer on a 2.5.1 client - directed
to a 2.4 machine that has a printer attached. It appears that lp options (-o)
are not being acted on from the lp command issued on the 2.5.1 machine. There
is not a problem with remote printers that are defined in the same way on
other clients that are running Solaris 2.4.

Can't help with an answer why though :-(
