I would like to connect an old HP LaserJet IID to my Sun Ultra 1. Is it
possible to print in graphic mode (i.e. www-pages from netscape) without
using postscript?
Thanks in advance!

I cannot get my HP laserJet IID working.
Caldera OpenLinux 2.3
KDE desktop
HP LaserJet IID, 4MB memory, no option cards.
I install the printer through COAS on the KDE
desktop. I select laserjet 2p/2d from the printer
list. The resulting configuration looks right.
When I print, either from within an app or by
dragging a file to the printer icon, the results
are the same. A series of lines that 'appear' to
mimic the layout of the text on the page, but are
just bars of pixels. Occasionally, an approximation
of readable characters appears, but mostly it is
just bars of dots.
The printer works fine under Windows (I know, I know)
so it isn't the printer.
Thanks
Doug
