Sun Visual Workshop C++ for building Motif and MFC based UI's?

I'm going to be using Visual Workshop C++ for redeveloping a medical
imaging application which currently uses the XView library, running
under Openwindows, on Solaris 2.x to Motif.

I've read on Sun's web site that VW C++ has the ability to generate GUI
code for Motif or Microsoft's MFC.  Is anyone using this feature and
does it work?  Ideally, I'd like to have a common source base and be
able to run this application under Solaris 2.6 (Sparc and x86) and NT
Workstation 4.0.  The learning curve for developing in the Windows
environment would take too long right now so this route looked
interesting.

I'd also need some sort of Unix API for my Unix function calls.  I'm
thinking that Softway's OpenNT environment, www.opennt.com, or GNU's
library might do the trick.  Any comment?  Thanks in advance!
